Halloween Witch Tassel Pattern

A glamorous witch tassel designed by Kathryn Halfpenney that is just wicked for Halloween. The finished tassel is about 14cm (5 1/2″) high, excluding hanging loop.

Full instructions with diagrams are provided over 16 pages, although some experience of tubular peyote, netting and vertical netting is recommended.

I have shown all the materials needed below and everything is listed in our Shop. You will need your usual beading equipment and either a Large Tassel Maker (by Clover) available here  or a piece of stiff card to make the tassel.

Description

Suggested materials for the tassel:  Gutermann  Sulky Rayon 40  – 200m Copper or Orange*;  DMC Perle 8  – 0.5m Orange or Black.

Suggested materials for head: 18mm wooden bead, 6mm bead (or size that won’t fit through hole in wooden bead), Delica size 11 beads in 6 colours : DB010 count x 8 (black for eyes), DB027 count x 10 (teal for eyelids), DB045* count x 258 (orange for hair), DB162 count x 9 (red for lips), DB204 count x 64 (cream for face), DB1363 count x 3 (pink for nose).

Suggested materials for collar, hat and cloak: Size 11 seed beads in 2 colours: 11HM401 x 15g (Opaque Black), 11HM451 x 1g (Gunmetal); 4mm Bicone count x 9 (Gunmetal AB)

* With a Light Purple tassel thread choose Perle 8 in purple or black and DB1345 for hair, and with Silver tassel thread choose  Perle 8 in grey or black and DB 252 for hair
