Halloween Witch Accessories Pattern

EXPERIENCE RECOMMENDED for this pattern by Kathryn Halfpenney. These accessories – cauldron, spoon, broomstick and spell book – were designed to complement our Halloween Witch Tassel.

Instructions with diagrams, photographs, colour charts and word charts are provided over 20 pages. It is recommended that you have some understanding of the stitches used. You will need to use either a peyote colour chart or word chart so experience of either of these is also recommended.

Stitches used are flat even count, flat odd count and tubular peyote stitch, as well as a tiny bit of brick stitch. I made my own tassel for the head of the broomstick, so have included instructions, but you could buy one if you wanted to.

See below for materials list. The pattern includes the Miyuki codes for the beads that I used. Finished measurements: Spoon 5cm long, Broomstick 12cm long, Spell Book (closed) 2x2cm, Cauldron 2.5cm tall and 3cm diameter.

Description

Suggested materials – I used Miyuki seed beads throughout

Broomstick – Size 11 seed beads 3g x mid topaz or brown, 1mm diameter florist or craft wire 12cm, small brown tassel or make your own using Nymo D for tassel and Perle 8 for binding.

Spoon – Size 11 seed beads 2g x pale topaz or brown

Spell Book – Size 11 seed beads in 4 colours: 3g x pumpkin orange, 0.5g x dark brown, 1g x white, 1.5g x black

Cauldron – Size 8 seed beads  14g x Matte Black

I used Nymo D to best suit the colours of the beads used: Sand Ash for the broomstick handle, spoon and spell book cover; White for the spell book page; and Black for the cauldron.

You will also need your usual beading equipment, wire cutters, round nose pliers, and a piece of thick card 4cm x 4cm.
